Freight transportation and private car journeys account for one-third of Sweden’s greenhouse gas emissions. Which means public transport has an important part to play in reducing the rate of global warming. Sweden has decided to show the way when it comes to the shift to green, and the City of Stockholm has pledged to be a fossil fuel-free city by 2040. SL is working to establish the world’s most sustainable public transport system. The aim of this campaign is to tell passengers about all the steps – whether little or large – that SL is taking towards that goal.
